Drawn from an impressive pool of nearly 2,500 applicants spanning 795 high schools across 48 states and several territories including American Samoa and Guam, the selection of the 300 scholars showcases not only their academic prowess but their dedication to original research. The 300 scholars hail from a diverse range of educational backgrounds, encompassing 200 American and international high schools spread across 33 states, including territories and foreign countries like China, Malaysia, and Switzerland. In its 103rd year, the Regeneron Science Talent Search continues to pave the way for future leaders in STEM disciplines. Since partnering with Regeneron in 2017, the competition has seen a significant increase in awards distributed, having nearly doubled the financial support available for participants. The initiative encourages young minds to explore scientific questions and develop innovative solutions to pressing global challenges.

This year’s projects reflect a variety of research themes, including topics in fields like Medicine and Health, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Cellular and Molecular Biology, and Engineering, among others. The scholars' contributions span 20 research categories, pinpointing significant trends in current scientific explorations.
