Shiodome Medix Launches Discount Babysitting Coupons for Employees in 2025

Introduction of FKBS Vouchers by Shiodome Medix

In an effort to foster a more accommodating work environment, Shiodome Medix, a leader in medical digital transformation (DX), has announced that it will introduce discount babysitting vouchers, referred to as FKBS vouchers, starting April 2025. This initiative is designed to support employees in balancing work and childcare, promoting a more flexible approach to work.

Background

As part of the amendments to the Child Care and Family Care Leave Law set to take effect in 2025, companies are increasingly required to bolster their childcare support measures. However, the usage rate of babysitters in Japan remains strikingly low, attributed largely to cost-related issues and psychological barriers. According to reports, only about 4.7% of parents have utilized babysitting services, while approximately 52% express some reluctance towards using such services.

Challenges Faced

Previously, Shiodome Medix implemented a time-charge system for babysitting assistance that was limited to working hours. Nonetheless, feedback indicated that support for childcare outside of working hours was inadequate. Employees, particularly those returning from maternity or parental leave and those struggling to balance childcare with their jobs, have voiced the need for more flexible support options.

The FKBS Voucher Solution

In response to these challenges, Shiodome Medix has partnered with FluffyKet to offer the FKBS voucher, which can be redeemed for babysitting services outside of work hours. Employees can utilize this coupon to receive discounts for babysitting services, with a maximum discount of 13,200 yen per day (using six 2,200 yen vouchers, applicable for bookings over six hours). The FKBS vouchers operate on an electronic coupon basis, allowing employees to utilize them as needed. Discounts can be applied as follows: four vouchers (8,800 yen) for three or more hours, five vouchers (11,000 yen) for four or more hours, and six vouchers (13,200 yen) for six or more hours of service.

Employee Feedback

Since the launch of the FKBS vouchers, employee feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Many have expressed gratitude for the option to use babysitting services outside of working hours and noted that the discounts have lowered the barriers to utilization. This support is anticipated to be an essential resource for facilitating a better work-life balance for employees with children.

Participation in Flexible Work Awareness Project

Moreover, Shiodome Medix is also taking part in the Flexible Work Awareness Project proposed by FluffyKet, which aims to promote collaboration among private companies to support a society where parenting and work coexist harmoniously. For more details, you can visit their official site here.

The project has notable endorsements including actress Miki Mizuno and actress Risa Ito, alongside singer-songwriter Ayaka Segawa, who has created the official promotional song, "Bye Bye, See You Again," featured in a music video available here.

Future Outlook

Shiodome Medix is committed to continuing the implementation of initiatives that cater to diverse working styles for its employees, aspiring to be a model case for reform in the healthcare and service industries. By actively supporting varied work-life integration strategies, the company aims to promote the well-being of its workforce while contributing positively to the corporate landscape.
