JPF Presents MTB Challenge 2026: Mie Stage Announcement

The excitement is building as the JPF (Japan Professional Freestyle) announces its first event for the 2026 season, the Mie Stage, set to take place on June 20, 2026. This mountain bike experience event will be held at the Seiwa no Mori Mountain Bike Course in Taki, Mie Prefecture. This initiative is a part of JPF's continuous efforts to promote sports and cycling culture in Japan through community-based mountain biking experiences.

The MTB Challenge is specifically designed for elementary school students, encouraging them to take their first steps into the world of mountain biking. With a focus on inclusivity, the event guarantees a safe and fun environment for children with little or no racing experience. To eliminate fears and ensure every participant feels comfortable, professional riders will provide practical lessons at the event venue, teaching essential biking skills and techniques. This initiative aims to foster a love for cycling while instilling a sense of adventure and challenge.

Event Details

The competition will feature two distinct race programs: the Kids Race and the Endurance Race. These races cater to participants of all experience levels, ensuring everyone can find a suitable challenge based on their physical capability.
  • - The Kids Race will use a specially designed course, allowing kids to race according to their age with manageable laps that promote enjoyment and excitement.
  • - The Endurance Race, suitable for all ages, will be a race format where participants compete to achieve the most laps within a 60 or 90-minute timeframe. Participants may join as individuals, teams, or parent-child pairs, making it a fantastic way for families to bond while enjoying mountain biking together. Those who wish to participate on electric bikes (E-bikes) are permitted to join, though they will be recorded as a reference for the results.

A special aspect of this event is the free course strategy lessons provided by former professional riders, who will guide participants through safe riding techniques and tips during the morning of the competition—a perfect opportunity for newcomers to gain confidence ahead of their race.
