Ericsson Restructures Executive Team and Market Areas for Enhanced Efficiency

Major Changes at Ericsson's Executive Level

On February 25, 2025, Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) unveiled a series of pivotal changes within its executive structure and market area organization as part of efforts to boost operational efficiency and customer service.

Per Narvinger, who has been leading Ericsson's Business Area Cloud Software and Services, has been appointed as the Executive Vice President and new head of the Business Area Networks, effective March 15, 2025. Narvinger, a veteran in the company since 1997, brings a wealth of experience, having significantly impacted the Cloud Software and Services division since he joined the executive team in 2022.

In a parallel move, Jenny Lindqvist will succeed Narvinger as the head of Cloud Software and Services. Lindqvist has been at the helm of Ericsson's operations in Europe and Latin America and has held various leadership roles since joining the company in 2010. Her appointment is expected to leverage her extensive industry insight and strategic capabilities to drive forward the Cloud segment’s objectives.

Börje Ekholm, President and CEO of Ericsson, expressed his enthusiasm about the appointments, stating, "I'm pleased to appoint Per and Jenny to head up our Networks and Cloud Software and Services businesses. They are strong leaders in Ericsson, each having made an impact on the organization since joining my Executive Team."

These changes are part of a broader reorganization of Ericsson's market areas. The company will now operate with two newly established market areas: Market Area Americas, led by Yossi Cohen, and Market Area Europe, Middle East, and Africa, managed by Patrick Johansson. This restructuring consolidates three existing market segments—Europe Latin America, North America, and Middle East Africa—into two, aiming to enhance focus on customer experience while retaining efficiency.

Ekholm emphasized the need for continual improvement within the company. "We are constantly looking for ways to improve customer experience and efficiencies. By combining three Market Areas into two, we see opportunities for efficiencies while maintaining the customer focus."

As part of these changes, Fredrik Jejdling, the current head of Business Area Networks, will step down from his position on March 15, 2025. Jejdling joined Ericsson in 2006 and has been instrumental in leading the Networks division, contributing significantly to the company's turnaround efforts since 2017. He will remain with Ericsson as an executive advisor until June 30, 2025.

Reflecting on his journey, Jejdling stated, "It has been a true privilege to work at Ericsson for almost two decades and as Head of Business Area Networks since 2017. Our technology leadership enables us to drive the momentum around programmable networks for differentiated connectivity. As we have laid the foundation for the future success of Networks, I feel that this is a good time to move on to new opportunities."

These strategic shifts at Ericsson underscore the company's commitment to innovation and responding to the evolving telecommunications landscape while ensuring robust leadership within its key business areas. As the technology industry continues to advance, Ericsson's focus on optimizing its operations will be crucial in maintaining its competitive edge in delivering cutting-edge connectivity solutions to customers worldwide.
