The Society of Actuaries Welcomes New Board Members for 2026
The Society of Actuaries (SOA), a recognized leader in the actuarial profession, has revealed the results of its 2026 elections, bringing exciting changes to its leadership team. Effective immediately after the upcoming SOA ImpACT Annual Conference at the end of October, five new members will join the Board, along with a President Elect and Vice Chair for the 2026–2027 term.

Sherry Chan, FSA, EA, MAAA, FCA, has been elected as the President Elect and Vice Chair. She is set to become the 79th President and Chair of the SOA, demonstrating her strong leadership capabilities. Chan currently serves as a Managing Director at EY, where she analyzes and advises organizations globally. Her previous roles include being the Chief Actuary for New York City and Ohio's largest public pension systems. Chan has been an active member of the SOA board for three years, where she has played a pivotal role in mentoring future actuaries, co-founding Abacus Actuaries, and enhancing actuarial education.
Ian Duncan, Ph.D., FSA, FIA, FCIA, FCA, MAAA, has been confirmed as SOA President and Chair for the upcoming term. Contributing to the depth of expertise within the organization,
Dave Dillon, FSA, FCA, MAAA, will serve as Immediate Past President.
