Children's Health Expands Pediatric Services to RedBird in Dallas County

Children's Health Sets Plans for New RedBird Location in Southern Dallas County

Children's Health, the leading pediatric healthcare system in North Texas, shared exciting news regarding its expansion plans for a new facility located in RedBird, southern Dallas County. In collaboration with UT Southwestern Medical Center and local community leaders, this initiative aims to directly address the healthcare needs of families in the area. The new center is expected to welcome its first patients by December 2027, providing a range of medical services designed to enhance children's health and well-being.

The new RedBird Specialty Center will be strategically located within The Shops at RedBird, giving families convenient access to urgent care, primary care, behavioral health services, and a variety of pediatric specialties, including orthopedics and sports medicine through the Andrews Institute for Child Health. This aims to offer better healthcare solutions for student-athletes and young patients in southern Dallas.

According to research from Healthy People 2030, children receiving care through well-coordinated medical homes experience improved health outcomes, including more preventative care, better management of chronic conditions, and enhanced coordination in their overall treatment. Data from the upcoming Beyond ABC report, set for release on November 18, indicates that children in southern Dallas continue to face higher rates of asthma, obesity, and chronic illnesses, compounded by persistent inequalities in housing and healthcare access.

Christopher J. Durovich, President and CEO of Children's Health, emphasized their commitment to providing expert and compassionate care closer to home: "As we expand our specialized pediatric services throughout the region, we are dedicated to ensuring that children and families can access the care they need. Within the RedBird community, we are creating services and an environment specifically designed for children, positioning ourselves to better serve all kids in our community."

Peter Brodsky, CEO of The Shops at RedBird, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the clinic's role in the community’s revitalization: "We are thrilled to welcome Children’s Health into the RedBird community. We've always been committed to providing high-quality services, and healthcare is the most important among them. With this new Children’s Health clinic, families in southern Dallas will have convenient and easy access to the best medical care for their children."

Texas Senator Royce West, a long-time advocate for community health, noted, "The decision of Children's Health to open a dedicated pediatric clinic in RedBird is a transformative moment for our community. It signifies that the future wellness of our children matters, and that access should never be a barrier. This expansion ensures that families can obtain the healthcare their children require when and where they need it most, without leaving their community."

Children's Health is committed to working closely with RedBird and community leaders throughout the project's progress, ensuring the new facility meets the needs of southern Dallas families while strengthening a partnership that promotes the health and wellness of children and families across the region.
