Seiyu and Uber Eats Partner for Enhanced Delivery Experience
In a strategic partnership, Seiyu, a prominent supermarket chain in Japan, and Uber Eats Japan are rolling out a new delivery service called "Pick, Pack, Pay" (PPP). This initiative aims to streamline the process of delivery by allowing Uber Eats delivery partners to pick up items from Seiyu stores, pack them, and deliver them directly to customers. This not only reduces the workload of store staff but also addresses the issue of labor shortages in the retail sector.
Starting from January 14, 2026, the service will begin at 29 locations in Tokyo and Kanagawa, with a plan to expand to a total of 206 stores by April 2026. Seiyu had already initiated a trial run of Uber Eats service in some Tokyo stores in October 2025, which received a positive response from consumers. The full-scale launch of the PPP delivery service will enable more customers across various regions to conveniently place orders for Seiyu's food and household products.
