The Royal Park Hotel, located in Nihonbashi, Chuo Ward, Tokyo, is thrilled to announce its collaboration with the esteemed Morinoen for a unique Hojicha Afternoon Tea. This delightful experience, available from April 1 to May 31, 2026, can be enjoyed at the hotel's Lobby Lounge, Fontaine, and highlights the rich, fragrant allure of roasted green tea through a selection of delectable sweets and savory dishes.
This year's collaboration marks the seventh installment, continuing a beloved tradition that has captivated guests for over a century. The highlight of the afternoon tea set includes a charming chocolate craft shaped like a playful cat spilling Hojicha from a teapot, embodying a whimsical touch complemented by seasonal blooms reminiscent of wisteria.
Guests can savor beautiful layer cakes featuring Hojicha cream and cocoa sponge, and refreshing glass desserts that pair silky panna cotta with Hojicha jelly and confiture of green plums. Furthermore, the classic Mont Blanc dessert has received a delightful makeover with Hojicha and Japanese chestnut cream, enhancing its subtle sweetness. Real treats also include an aromatic Hojicha and orange pound cake, a tart harmonizing the sweetness of apples with Hojicha crumble, and bite-sized confections of apricot fruit paste wrapped in rice cake.
On the savory side, the menu features Hojicha-braised octopus and daikon served in gelée, a sandwich of rolled omelet combined with seaweed and shiba-zuke mayonnaise, and croquettes made with sardines and potatoes, all designed to elevate the rich flavors of Hojicha.
To accompany this delightful tea experience, guests can enjoy the aromatic Hojicha and a selection of non-caffeinated lemongrass tea. Afternoon tea is priced at 8,000 yen per person, and reservations can be made through the hotel.
