Plume Joins the prpl Foundation
In a significant move aimed at enhancing collaboration and innovation in internet technologies, Plume has officially announced its membership in the prpl Foundation as a Gold member. This global alliance is at the forefront of promoting open-source software and open standards, paving the way for the advancement of next-generation connected devices.
The announcement coincides with the ongoing Global prpl Summit 2025, held on October 13-14 in Paris, France, where industry leaders gather to discuss the future of connected homes and the integration of cutting-edge technologies. As a participant in this summit, Plume is set to unveil early demonstrations of their technology operating on the prpl platform, showcasing their commitment to utilizing open standards to enhance consumer experiences.
Plume’s CEO Chris Griffiths emphasized the transformative possibilities offered by this integration. “By adopting the prpl framework, we are poised to elevate consumer experiences significantly across connected homes. Our cloud-based platform, including advanced features for Wi-Fi management and network intelligence, enables us to add extraordinary value to prpl-based deployments,” Griffiths remarked.
The essence of Plume's membership lies in its commitment to fostering a collaborative environment with its Internet Service Provider (ISP) customers and technology partners. As ISPs increasingly adopt hardware and services empowered by prpl standards, Plume is stepping up its efforts to align closely with their technological needs. This synergy is reflected in Plume’s strategy of offering cloud-based platforms that come equipped with essential APIs for security, customer care, and network management.
Dr. Leonard Dauphinee, president of the prpl Foundation, expressed optimism regarding Plume’s involvement. “Plume's membership is a testament to the industry’s ongoing dedication to promoting open standards for connected homes. Their contributions will undeniably enrich the prpl community as we collectively strive for greater interoperability and openness,” he stated.
At the NetworkX exhibition in Paris, Plume also arranged private meetings with customers to delve into the future of broadband and IoT experiences. Discussions will nearly touch upon pivotal topics such as the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence, the evolution of self-healing home networks, and the creation of a network intelligence operating system. This operating system aims to usher in a new age of connectivity, transforming the consumer experience.
Having pioneered the first managed Wi-Fi platform for ISPs in 2016, Plume sustains its leadership in providing robust cloud-managed solutions. With nearly half a billion devices seamlessly connected to its platform, the company serves over 400 ISPs globally, allowing them to enhance subscriber services while optimizing their operational frameworks. Leveraging OpenSync®, a pre-integrated open-source framework, Plume simplifies deployments and supports major industry standards like RDK-B and prplWave.
Through this strategic alignment with the prpl Foundation, Plume reinforces its mission to deliver innovative solutions that not only meet but exceed the evolving needs of ISPs and their subscribers. For more information about Plume and its offerings, visit
