Discover the Flavors of Wakayama: Special Fair at Seven-Eleven

Explore the Wakayama Special Fair at Seven-Eleven

From August 4 to August 17, Seven-Eleven will host the "Wakayama Special Fair" across its stores in the Kansai region. This exciting event will feature a delightful lineup of ten unique dishes made with local ingredients sourced from Wakayama, known for its rich food culture and agricultural heritage.

A Taste of Wakayama’s Finest Ingredients

The fair will highlight six dishes prepared with produce such as the renowned "Arakawa Peaches," Kishu Nanko plums, and Wakayama lemons. These items promise a fresh and invigorating tasting experience, perfect for summer. Alongside these, you'll find four popular local delicacies, including the famous Wakayama ramen, allowing patrons to savor the essence of this region.

Seven-Eleven Japan, led by President Tomohiro Akutsu, aims to promote local economies through initiatives prioritizing locally produced goods. The fair not only celebrates the flavors of Wakayama but also supports local farmers and producers, helping to revitalize the community driving home the importance of regional food consumption.

Emphasizing Local Consumption

Through its activities, Seven-Eleven commits to emphasizing local food culture, ensuring that regional specialties shine while supporting local production. By utilizing high-quality ingredients from each prefecture, the company seeks to introduce their unique culinary charms to a broader audience and strengthen the community.

Wakayama benefits from a climate perfect for cultivating fruits like plums, peaches, and citrus. However, it faces challenges such as declining population and aging farmers. Since 2004, Seven-Eleven has collaborated with Wakayama Prefecture through a comprehensive partnership agreement, engaging in projects that promote the use of local products. The "Wakayama Special Fair" is a timely response to showcase the deliciousness of Wakayama and share the region's allure with a wider audience.
