Emphasizing Disaster Preparedness through Nutritional Support
On June 18, 2025, the Japanese Nutritional Food Association (JNFA), led by Chairman Hiroshi Ito, actively participated in a disaster preparedness seminar held at the Patria facility in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture. The seminar focused on educating the public about the importance of
rolling stock, a proactive approach to food storage that can significantly enhance emergency preparedness.
During the event, JNFA provided approximately 9,000 servings of optimized nutritional food, following the initial provision of these certified products on January 16, 2025. Rolling stock, which is the practice of buying and regularly replenishing familiar food items, not only mitigates food spoilage but also ensures that families have access to comfort foods in times of crisis. This method fosters a greater sense of mental well-being, as individuals are less likely to face anxiety during emergencies when they can rely on familiar meals.
The seminar attracted many local residents, marking one-and-a-half years since the Noto Peninsula earthquake. Experts conducted informative lectures discussing the importance of preparedness in daily life. After the discussions, attendees were given opportunities to receive optimized nutritional foods, demonstrating the practicality and benefits of rolling stock.
