Hydron Energy Advances Clean Energy Solutions with New Funding Support in Canada

In a significant development for renewable energy technology, Hydron Energy Inc. has announced it will receive funding support from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) and Innovate BC. This funding comes through the BC Fast Pilot Program and will help advance Hydron's innovative approaches to reducing carbon emissions in hard-to-abate sectors. Founded in 2020 and based in British Columbia, Hydron is spearheading research into cost-effective methods for Direct Air Capture (DAC) of carbon dioxide and the production of rare gases.

The funding will specifically support Hydron's breakthrough INTRUPTor™ gas upgrading solution, which aims to provide low-cost extraction of carbon dioxide and rare gases directly from the atmosphere. This advanced technology is designed to create renewable fuel for aviation and aerospace industries. To validate its effectiveness, Hydron plans to conduct a pilot project in collaboration with a major aviation company in the United States and a leading e-fuel production company in Canada. The goal is to demonstrate the capabilities of Hydron's innovative system in advancing sustainable energy solutions while effectively lowering greenhouse gas emissions.

Soheil Khiavi, CEO of Hydron Energy, expressed gratitude for the support from NRC IRAP and Innovate BC, indicating that the funding will accelerate the demonstration of their carbon removal technology and renewable fuel production in partnership with North American industrial leaders.

One of the key innovations of Hydron's technology is its capability to provide affordable renewable natural gas (RNG) from organic waste sources such as anaerobic digesters, wastewater treatment facilities, and landfills. The INTRUPTor™ utilizes a biomimicry process that operates efficiently under ambient conditions, which allows for significant simplifications in plant design and fabrication. This technological advancement is expected to reduce both capital and operational costs by as much as 50% while delivering an impressive 85% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to alternative commercial gas upgrading solutions.

The need for effective carbon capture and rare gas production methods is increasingly urgent as the world confronts escalating climate challenges. As such, Hydron Energy's work is not only innovative but also essential to meeting global emissions targets and fostering a cleaner, more sustainable future. By investing in such technologies, Canada is positioning itself as a leader in the clean energy sector, with companies like Hydron paving the way for new, sustainable solutions.

Looking ahead, Hydron Energy aims to expand its reach and impact, further enhancing its role in clean energy innovation and contributing to global efforts to combat climate change. With esteemed partnerships and strong financial backing, the future looks promising for Hydron Energy as they strive to bring about significant advancements in the energy landscape.
