Envision Launches Galaxy Campus



Envision, a leading company in green technology, has officially announced the opening of its highly anticipated Galaxy Campus located in Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia. This state-of-the-art facility is a cornerstone for the future of artificial intelligence infrastructure, meticulously designed to accommodate the enormous demands of AI operations at an unprecedented scale.

The Infrastructure of Tomorrow


The Galaxy Campus represents a significant advancement in the integration of renewable energy and high-density computing. At its core lies a massive 120,000 square meter supercomputing center, roughly equivalent to 20 football fields. This facility is engineered to support a groundbreaking level of AI processing power, boasting a potential capacity of over 2 gigawatts (GW) of electricity, which is directly sourced from renewable energy.

This innovative campus is set to establish a new standard in the AI sector, capable of generating a million PFLOPS of computational power and facilitating up to a million AI accelerators. Ricky Zheng, General Manager of Envision’s AI Data Center, emphasized the importance of a specialized AI energy system for this scale, stating, "To support a million accelerators, we need to integrate renewable energy generation, dedicated transmission infrastructure, and large-scale energy storage to ensure stable and low-cost green energy."

Redefining AI Connectivity


Beyond energy supply, the Galaxy Campus also tackles the critical requirement for low-latency connectivity essential for large-scale AI operations. Ulanqab’s role as a significant digital infrastructure hub ensures that it provides the necessary network performance for clusters operating hundreds of thousands of accelerators.

The region's plentiful wind and solar resources offer an added advantage, enabling Envision to leverage renewable assets, transmission infrastructure, and AI-optimized energy management to create a new model for gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure powered by green electricity.

Ricky Zheng elaborated on this vision: "The next frontier of AI is infrastructure. As AI models grow larger and their processing requirements escalate, energy availability, network performance, and energy efficiency become critical limiting factors. The Galaxy Campus integrates energy systems, networks, and physical infrastructure at an unprecedented scale, allowing tech giants, AI innovators, and hyperscale firms to deploy and scale the next generation of AI workloads."

Envision’s Global Mission


The Galaxy Campus is the flagship project of Envision’s global initiative, Mission Gobi, which was launched at VivaTech in Paris in June 2026. This ambitious initiative aims to build 5 GW of green AI computing capacity in desert and arid regions across the globe by 2030, marking a significant milestone in the intersection between technology and sustainability. Through this initiative, Envision is not only advancing technological potential but also making strides in green energy utilization, ensuring that the future of AI infrastructure is both powerful and sustainable.
