Innovative Approach to Hygiene in Disaster Relief
The initiative aims to revolutionize care for the elderly and disabled during disasters, particularly in welfare evacuation centers. By collaborating across sectors, including research institutions and private enterprises, the project addresses the urgent need for effective infection control and hygiene maintenance in such challenging environments.
MA-T® technology is described as a revolutionary method that generates stable, minute radicals for sterilization and deodorization, with a composition that is predominantly water. This makes it exceptionally safe for application on skin and in oral hygiene, leading to its increasing use in diverse settings such as airplanes, hotels, hospitals, and dental clinics.
MA-T® and switleBODY
The newly developed switleBODY, reminiscent of a portable vacuum, sprays MA-T® while simultaneously sucking it back, allowing for cleansing without wetting bedding. This device facilitates a "care revolution" in shelters by easing caregiving burdens, offering sanitation, ensuring privacy, and allowing for comfortable washing while lying down. Moreover, it prevents secondary infections and maintains a clean environment essential for disaster management.
The collaborative efforts under the Resilience Award highlight not just innovative technology, but also the necessity of integrated approaches in health care and disaster preparedness strategies. Furthermore, they point towards a future where hygiene and well-being can be maintained even in the direst of circumstances.
