Overview of 2025 Local Government Brand Rankings
Daito Kentaku Inc., headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, (CEO: Kei Takeuchi), has conducted an extensive brand survey that gathered responses from over 180,000 individuals. This survey culminated in the publication of the "2025 Local Government Brand Rankings for the Tokyo Metropolitan Area."
Methodology and Participants
The survey, which was designed by the Daito Kentaku Rental Future Research Institute, involved distributing and collecting questionnaires online via Macromill, Inc. The participants were adults aged 20 and over from all 47 prefectures in Japan, covering a total of 1,890 municipalities.

Survey Period and Structure
The survey was conducted from
February 21 to March 10, 2025, with a total of
182,805 respondents providing their insights. The analysis and design of the survey were handled by Daito Kentaku, with support from Macromill for distribution and data collection.
Response Options
Participants were randomly shown various municipalities (excluding their own) and were asked to select one of the following options:
1. I have lived there.
2. I have not lived there but have visited.
3. I have a good image of it.
4. I have a bad image of it.
5. I only know the name and have no specific image.
6. I have never heard of it.
The brand deviation value was calculated based on the Image DI (the rate of good impressions minus the rate of bad impressions) multiplied by the recognition rate.
The term "visited" refers to the cumulative ratio of those who answered options 1 and 2.
