Launch of 31st Coca-Cola Environmental Education Prize
The Coca-Cola Educational & Environmental Foundation, headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, is excited to announce the
31st Coca-Cola Environmental Education Prize, which will be open for applications from
April 14 to August 31, 2025. This award honors notable activities related to environmental conservation, awareness, beautification, and education.
Founded in 1994, the foundation has aimed to promote environmental education and conservation activities, providing support and funding to various initiatives across Japan. Over the years, more than
2,400 organizations have applied, showcasing the commitment of communities to environmental issues.
Award Categories and Themes
For this year's award, participants can enter in two main categories:
- - Activity Promotion Category: Targeted at elementary and middle school students and their educators.
- - Planning and Research Promotion Category: Intended for high school students and above, including students of technical colleges, universities, and graduate schools.
The prize encourages projects aligned with
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly focusing on responsible consumption (SDGs 12) for the Activity Promotion Category and emphasizing themes of containers, water, and climate change for the Planning and Research Promotion Category.
The award ceremony and final selection will take place online on
October 11, 2025. Recipients will also participate in a three-day experiential learning camp at the Coca-Cola Environmental House in Yubari, Hokkaido, scheduled for
December 25–27, 2025.
Awards and Grants
Winners in each category will receive various awards:
- - Activity Promotion Category (Elementary School): The Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award or the Minister of the Environment Award, along with a grant of 300,000 yen.
- - Activity Promotion Category (Middle School): Winners will receive similar awards and a grant of 300,000 yen, while two others might receive an Honorary Award with 100,000 yen each.
- - Planning and Research Promotion Category (High School and Above): One top team will receive either the Minister of Education Award or the Minister of Environment Award with a grant of 500,000 yen, and three others may receive Honors with 100,000 yen.
