XVision Support: The Future of Remote Assistance
ExSeeds, a subsidiary of Taiyo Holdings, has unveiled an upgraded version of its remote assistance system,
XVision Support, designed to vastly improve the efficiency and quality of on-site work with the incorporation of cutting-edge MR (Mixed Reality) technology. Released in October 2024, this cloud-based system bridges the gap between remote supporters and on-site workers, allowing them to connect in real-time, sharing visual and documentation supports seamlessly.
New Features Overview
The newly enhanced XVision Support introduces several innovative features aimed at meeting the diverse needs of today's work environments:
Group Call Functionality
The system now allows multiple users to join calls simultaneously, which benefits both on-site personnel and remote experts. This feature enables various remote points to support multiple worksites simultaneously, effectively increasing productivity. Additionally, it allows external guests to join discussions through issued URLs, fostering collaborative support.
Expanded Offline Capabilities
With the new update, users can access essential files (such as images, videos, and PDFs) tied to preset coordinates via QR codes, even when internet connectivity is disrupted. This means crucial instructions and training videos can be retrieved on-site, ensuring continuity in work processes.
Multi-Device Compatibility
In addition to its support for HoloLens 2, the system now also accommodates Magic Leap 2, known for its lightweight design and wide field of view. ExSeeds is committed to further expanding compatibility across an array of MR devices, smartphones, and tablets, allowing users the flexibility to select the device that best suits their operational needs.
Understanding XVision Support
At its core, XVision Support leverages MR technology to create an experience reminiscent of having a colleague physically present. This system combines video call capabilities with advanced features enabling remote assistants to view the same visuals as on-site workers, thereby providing precise and effective support.
Key Features Include:
- - Real-Time Visual Sharing: Supporters can monitor the first-person view of workers, providing guidance in a way that feels immediate and impactful.
- - File Sharing and Transmission: Videos and PDFs can be instantly sent to the worker's viewing space, ensuring they have the necessary information at their fingertips.
- - Spatial Pointing: Visual indicators such as arrows and circles can be projected into the worker’s field of view, allowing for clear and direct instructions.
- - Call Recording and Data Storage: All operational data is securely stored in the cloud, enabling the creation of manuals and the accumulation of knowledge for future use.
