OVER ALLs Brings Life to Learning with a Stunning Mural at Takanawa Gateway City

OVER ALLs Unveils Mural at Takanawa Gateway City

This autumn, the mural art company OVER ALLs, based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, has created a remarkable mural at the Corporate Co-Creation Learning Center known as Lx Hub, established by the Digital Business Innovation Center (DBIC). The mural is designed to encapsulate the joy of learning.

Details of the Artwork

  • - Size: W13.0m × H3.0m
  • - Location: 2-21-2 Takanawa, Minato-ku, Tokyo, THE LINKPILLAR 1 SOUTH 8F
  • - Days to Create: 6 Days
  • - Materials Used: Paint, Spray

This vibrant mural embodies the essence of Lx Hub, a facility that encourages individuals to explore their identities with the question, “Who am I?”. The founder of DBIC, Mr. Nishino, expresses concern that many adults lack the spark of excitement that children show when discovering something new.

Inspired by these thoughts, OVER ALLs crafted a mural that transitions from the right to the left, depicting three children observing the evolving forms of adulthood. Starting with a figure of an adult who appears lost and burdened by vague concerns, it transitions through stages showing self-reflection and engaging discussions with others. Eventually, the mural concludes with a depiction of profound joy, representing the moment of realization when individuals uncover their latent ideas and talents—echoing the exclamation of “WOW!”

The ultimate message conveyed is that “Learning is Fun!” as this vibrant emotion is rekindled within adults. Witnessing this transformation not only illuminates their journey but also brings forth a similar excitement in the eyes of the children.

The mural is strategically placed in a symbolic location at the entrance of the learning facility, aiming to empower visitors to unleash their potential and partake in the joy of learning. It serves to inspire a new awareness and inspiration for the future, especially for the children who are the torchbearers of tomorrow.

About the Artists

The artistry behind this mural comes from OVER ALLs, primarily led by its CEO, Taketo Akazawa, along with main artist Yuki Yamamoto, who was the champion of “ART BATTLE JAPAN 2018”. Yamamoto, along with his team, continues to create diverse works throughout Japan, focusing on transforming people into expressive beings through murals.

To ensure every piece resonates with the intended message, they dive deep into backgrounds and histories, conducting interviews that reveal the emotions businesses wish to convey. Previous notable works include murals featuring renowned athletes, Yu Darvish and Shohei Ohtani, at Escon Field Hokkaido, and the “FUTABA Art District” series, portraying residents of Futaba-machi who are rebuilding after the Great East Japan Earthquake.

The artistic efforts of OVER ALLs have also gained significant media attention, with appearances on shows such as “Jounetsu Tairiku,” “news zero,” “Sunday Japon,” and “WBS (World Business Satellite).”.
