WestExec Advisors Welcomes Johnnie Kaberle as New Senior Vice President
WestExec Advisors, a prominent bipartisan advisory firm specializing in strategic and geopolitical risk, has proudly announced the appointment of Johnnie Kaberle as their new Senior Vice President. Drawing from her extensive background in government affairs and national security, Kaberle is set to bolster the firm's operations as it guides clients through an increasingly complicated policy landscape.
Kaberle, a highly regarded policymaker, joins WestExec after a distinguished career filled with various senior positions within the U.S. House of Representatives. Her tenure includes significant roles, particularly on the House Committee on Appropriations, where she adeptly functioned as both Deputy Staff Director and Staff Director for the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee. Here, she showcased her leadership by overseeing a skilled team focused on drafting the Fiscal Year 2024 and 2025 Defense Appropriations bills, each topping $800 billion.
Highlighting her notable contributions to the defense sector, Kaberle secured upwards of $2.5 billion in funding aimed at fostering emerging technologies. She played a pivotal role in initiatives such as the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) and the Accelerate the Procurement and Fielding of Innovative Technologies (APFIT) program. Additionally, Kaberle was instrumental in launching a Concierge Member Services program designed to enhance transparency and responsiveness within the appropriations process.
Prior to her influential role on the Appropriations Committee, Kaberle served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Congresswoman Kay Granger and was a Senior Appropriations Advisor to then-Representative Roy Blunt. Her experience from 2003 to 2009 as a Senior Policy Advisor in Blunt's role as Republican Whip further solidified her expertise in legislative strategy and policymaking. Her early career also saw her work with various renowned Congress members, fostering a well-rounded understanding of the legislative framework at high levels.
Kaberle's noteworthy contributions have earned her several prestigious civilian awards, including the Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service and the Department of the Army Distinguished Public Service Medal, among others. These accolades stand as testament to her commitment and impactful service in national security.
Welcoming Kaberle to the WestExec team, Co-Founder Michèle Flournoy expressed enthusiasm about her joining the firm, recognizing the depth of her experience in addressing critical national security and budget issues. Her expertise is expected to greatly benefit WestExec's growing clientele as they navigate the intricate U.S. policy landscape and the complexities of global business.
In response to her new role, Kaberle articulated her appreciation, stating,
"I am honored to join WestExec Advisors and bring my experience in national security, appropriations, and legislative strategy to the firm's clients.
