WO Unveils Limited Edition AQUA Electric BMX 'GLISSE' with Exciting Upgrades

WO Unveils Limited Edition AQUA Electric BMX 'GLISSE'

On September 6, 2025, WO BIKES will introduce its latest limited edition electric BMX model, 'GLISSE' in AQUA color. This exciting new release will be part of the second lot of the GLISSE lineup, which brings significant enhancements that aim to improve the riding experience.

Notable Upgrades in the 2nd Lot of GLISSE

The new GLISSE comes with two major changes:

1. Weight Reduction: The total weight of the bike has been lowered by over 1kg. By thoroughly revising all components to achieve maximum lightness, the new model has achieved a weight reduction of 1.25kg, bringing it down from 21kg to approximately 19.8kg!

2. Front Light Equipped: The GLISSE now comes with a standard LED front light that can be toggled on and off using the display. The display has been redesigned to feature enhanced waterproof capabilities, making it more durable in various weather conditions.

What is GLISSE?

After eight years of conceptualizing and four years of practice in the world of electric mobility, WO BIKES has created a unique blend of electric assistance and BMX—the ‘GLISSE’. Designed to navigate the steep streets of Tokyo with ease, GLISSE is perfect for those who prefer not to rush, allowing riders to relish the glide experience with an optimal pace. This bike embodies freedom on two wheels, offering a frictionless ride through urban environments.

WO BIKES, founded by a group of active enthusiasts who enjoy skiing, snowboarding, surfing, travel, and outdoor activities, translates their lifestyle into innovative mobility solutions. Through this journey, they've realized that electric assist technology can differentiate between bikes that simply need assistance and those that don’t.

For example, the classic 'mama-chari' bicycles, often heavy in weight and essential for carrying children, thrive with added electric support. Similarly, the resurgence of fat bikes globally was spurred by their newfound capabilities thanks to electric assistance. However, electric assist is not merely for heavy bikes; it should enhance the comfort and efficiency of everyday commuting as well.

This realization has led WO BIKES to explore the potential of electric assistance in BMX models. Traditionally, BMX bikes are lightweight and designed primarily for tricks, making them unsuitable for extended travel. This leads to their underutilization, as many riders would only use them when highly motivated. However, the integration of electric assistance alters this perception drastically.

GLISSE delivers astonishing acceleration, a seamless connection with the bike, and an exhilarating sensation when climbing hills, a new experience that WO BIKES proudly terms as “GLISSE.” The term derives from the French word for 'sliding' and is inspired by the smooth, flowing sensation of riding a surfboard.
