Buffalo's New Photo Management App Features Simplify Memories with Upgraded Functions

Buffalo's Omoidebako App Upgrade: Memory Management Made Easy

Buffalo Inc., headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, has officially announced the much-anticipated update for its digital photo album application, Omoidebako (version 9.1), which will be available from June 26, 2025. This latest version seeks to liberate users from the hassle of photo sorting, introducing five new functions designed to improve user experience and enhance how users cherish their memories.

New Highlights of the Update

1. Photo Sorting via Smartphone

For the first time, users can now sort their photos and videos directly from a smartphone or tablet connected to their home Wi-Fi network. Previously, this function could only be performed in front of a TV connected to the Omoidebako device. This upgrade brings convenience, allowing you to manage your photo collections from anywhere in your home.

2. Smart Photo Import

The new intuitive features include a smart import system that automatically identifies photos that have not yet been sent to the Omoidebako unit, along with a functionality that lets users select multiple photos simply by swiping their fingers on the screen. This significantly reduces the effort required to choose photos for uploading.

3. Fast Video Import from iPhone

The app now supports a transform-free video transmission from iPhones, particularly for the PD-2000 series. As a result, the time needed to import videos from an iPhone is greatly minimized. This feature allows for seamless video saving without the usual delays.

4. Date Label for Easy Navigation

To enhance organization, the application now displays date labels for photos within listings as well as during the transfer process. This addition makes locating desired photos much easier by categorizing them based on the date they were taken.

5. Dedicated Video Player for Android

An exciting new feature for Android users is the introduction of a dedicated video player. Optimized for seamless streaming, users can watch videos without needing to switch between different applications.

Note: Users must ensure that their Omoidebako device is connected to the same network for optimal functionality.

The Omoidebako Device: A Digital Memories Hub

The Omoidebako, which can incorporate photos and videos from smartphones and digital cameras, facilitates easy and automatic arrangement of cherished memories. Parents can enjoy sharing precious moments captured by various devices with family members via their living room TV or on personal smartphones.

It boasts an impressive storage capacity, able to hold up to 1 million files, making it an ideal solution for growing families or anyone looking to preserve memories more effectively. By connecting to a Wi-Fi router or utilizing a LAN cable, users can access the free Omoidebako app from either smartphones or PCs, making photo management a seamless process. The app supports importing and playing back 4K videos and high-efficiency HEVC formats.

Additional features, including the album grouping function and sorting mode, ensure users can manage photo preservation effortlessly. Since its inception, the Omoidebako has continually evolved, thanks to ongoing updates that improve functionalities — including compatibility with the latest iPhone 16 series and low-power standby modes.

The Omoidebako device has been recognized in parent-support initiatives by local governments, winning awards as an outstanding IT product for nurturing children.

As needs for practical memory management grow, the recent update positions Buffalo's Omoidebako app as a key tool for modern family life, simplifying how users celebrate and maintain their treasured memories.
