Until recently, Backlog supported task management through a simple two-level structure consisting of parent and child tasks. The 'Grandchild Tasks' feature maintains a clean interface while providing the capability for more detailed task breakdowns, limited to three levels of structure to keep usability high.

Features of Grandchild Tasks

The newly implemented Grandchild Tasks can be observed directly from the task display screen, and their structure will also reflect in various progress tracking tools like Gantt charts and boards. Furthermore, this feature will be available across all mobile app platforms, including both iOS and Android.

Initially, the Grandchild Tasks feature will be disabled by default to minimize clutter. Project administrators will have the option to enable this feature on a per-project basis, allowing each team to customize their task management workflows according to specific project needs.

Display Capabilities
