TIER IV's Initiative with NEDO on Autonomous Driving

This initiative focuses on the research and development of a "Service Support Route for Autonomous Driving" on public roads. TIER IV's Efforts

As a leader in the development of the open-source autonomous driving software known as Autoware, TIER IV has forged ahead with R&D and social implementation of autonomous driving systems. Through this initiative, TIER IV will capitalize on its past achievements and knowledge to implement a "Service Support Route" that complements the autonomous driving capabilities of vehicles using Vehicle-to-Network (V2N) communication data.

Key Implementation Details

1. Remote Monitoring and Support: Enable multiple bus operations through remote monitoring and support from a central location.
2. Collaboration with Infrastructure: Enhance the availability of autonomous driving services through cooperation with roadside infrastructure.
3. Sustaining Local Public Transport: Ensure the sustainability of local public transportation services.

Moving forward, TIER IV plans to collaborate with NEDO and various partners in industry, government, and academia to promote the social implementation of autonomous driving swiftly through this project. The ultimate aim is to contribute to the establishment of a sustainable mobility society across Japan.
