Notre Dame Academy's New Brand Identity
In a significant development, Notre Dame Academy (NDA) in Los Angeles has unveiled a new brand identity that encapsulates its unified mission as an educational institution. This rebranding initiative symbolizes the academy's commitment to preparing students for success in an evolving world. With an intentional focus on its coeducational elementary program, coeducational middle school, and all-girls middle and high school, NDA has combined these divisions under a singular, cohesive identity. This unification serves not only to strengthen the community but also to underscore the forward-thinking vision that defines the academy's educational approach.
According to Lilliam Paetzold '84, the president and head of the school, the refreshed brand reflects the momentum of Notre Dame Academy today and signals an exciting path forward for its students. Having been a student at the academy herself before returning as a parent and educator, Paetzold expressed, "This next chapter honors the foundation that shaped so many of us while embracing the bold future we are building for every student."
The rebranding effort is the culmination of 16 years of strategic work led by the school's Board of Directors, who aimed to create a single visual identity that represents the academy's community strength and unity as a singular institution. The initiative highlights a transparent approach to showcase the shared vision that drives all the school's efforts.
Three Pillars of Education
At the center of NDA's new brand are three defining pillars that shape the educational experience:
1.
Innovation
The academy ensures that students receive the most current, research-based learning experiences across all subjects. This approach equips students with the skills necessary to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing world.
2.
Community
A unified mission connects the coeducational elementary and middle schools with the all-girls middle and high school, emphasizing the strength derived from teamwork and collaboration. This community-centric focus aims to foster a sense of belonging among students.
3.
Formation
The NDA education instills a strong sense of academic excellence grounded in faith, leadership, and service. This holistic approach prepares students to develop into thoughtful, compassionate leaders who can contribute positively to society.
The newly designed visual identity features contemporary typography and clean, modern design elements that reflect the academy's energetic and progressive ethos. This refreshed look will gradually be integrated into campus signage, digital platforms, and communication materials over the course of the year.
A Legacy of Excellence
Founded by the Sisters of Notre Dame, Notre Dame Academy boasts a nearly 80-year legacy in West Los Angeles. Over generations, the academy has empowered students to make meaningful contributions to their communities and beyond. This enduring mission continues to drive NDA's commitment to fostering curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking across various disciplines, including academics, arts, athletics, and community service.
As NDA looks towards the future, the school is poised to not only maintain its rich tradition of excellence but also to embrace new methodologies and innovations that enhance the educational journey of every student.
