Delta Electronics Achieves Renewable Electricity Milestone
Delta Electronics, a renowned leader in power management and innovative green solutions, has proudly announced that its operations across the Americas have reached a remarkable milestone: achieving 100% renewable electricity. This significant accomplishment has come five years ahead of its global RE100 commitment, underscoring Delta's dedication to sustainability and renewable energy advancement.
In the Americas, Delta’s operations encompass manufacturing facilities, research and development centers, and sales offices throughout both North and South America. By successfully integrating renewable energy sources, Delta has managed to power an impressive 91.1% of its entire global operations with renewable electricity as of 2025, marking a significant achievement just four years into their journey toward sustainability.
Austin Tseng, President of Delta Electronics (Americas), stated, “Achieving 100% renewable electricity in the Americas five years ahead of our global RE100 target reflects both our long-term sustainability commitment and our ability to execute with speed and discipline. By advancing Delta's RE100 roadmap, we are also demonstrating how regional leadership can accelerate meaningful climate action.” Tseng emphasized the company's commitment to driving meaningful decarbonization efforts across its operations as they move forward.
The pathway to this accomplishment was made possible through a diversified sourcing strategy that was carefully crafted to cater to the unique energy structures and constraints in various regions. Delta's balanced renewable energy portfolio includes utility-based green energy programs (GEPs), long-term green power purchase agreements (PPAs), as well as on-site solar photovoltaic (PV) installations alongside energy storage systems that utilize Delta's high-efficiency solar inverters and lithium-ion batteries. Notably, the company's renewable coverage is supplemented with certified Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) to ensure offsetting electricity consumption where necessary.
In several key markets, Delta has engaged in utility-based green energy programs, which facilitate the direct sourcing of renewable electricity via regulated green tariffs. In 2025, these programs accounted for a third of the region's renewable sourcing, with expectations of increasing this figure to over 50% by 2027. By participating in these GEPs across six facilities, Delta sources close to 15 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of renewable electricity annually, aligning their procurement efforts with local regulations while simultaneously boosting grid-level renewable integration.
Moreover, Delta is strategically positioned to benefit from long-term power purchase agreements. Approximately 20% of the annual renewable sourcing in the Americas is projected to come from these agreements in the latter half of 2026. A notable project centered in Mexico will secure around 6.5 million kWh of solar-generated electricity annually for a three-year term, further supporting regional operations and contributing to the sustainable energy landscape.
Delta is also continuously working to expand its on-site renewable energy generation capabilities. Significant projects include a 1.12MW rooftop and carport solar PV system installed at the LEED Zero Energy-certified headquarters in Fremont, California, alongside similar projects in New Jersey and Michigan. To ensure comprehensive coverage across its geographically diverse operations, the company employs RECs to match any remaining electricity needs, effectively optimizing its renewable energy mix by leveraging GEPs, PPAs, and onsite generation systems.
This diversified sourcing strategy aligns seamlessly with Delta’s overarching sustainability goals, integrating renewable procurement with energy efficiency improvements, internal carbon pricing initiatives, and green building programs. Together, these efforts showcase Delta's commitment to enhancing its RE100 roadmap not just within the Americas but on a global scale.
