Med Center Health Launches Innovative Specialty Pharmacy Program in Partnership with Clearway Health

Establishing a Specialty Pharmacy Program

Med Center Health has joined forces with Boston-based Clearway Health to create a pioneering specialty pharmacy program in Bowling Green, Kentucky. This initiative is designed to ensure that patients dealing with chronic and complex medical conditions have equal access to critical medications and the ongoing care necessary for effective management.

Purpose of the Program

The specialty pharmacy program's primary goal is to enhance medication management and adherence among patients requiring specialized medication therapies. By embedding certified pharmacists and skilled patient liaisons directly into the clinical care teams of various ambulatory specialty clinics, this program aims to streamline care and eliminate barriers that could hinder patients from accessing their necessary medications.

The program will commence in several key Med Center Health clinics, including those specializing in Neurology, Heart & Lung, and Gastroenterology. Future expansions are planned that will include more clinics and even the establishment of a new specialty pharmacy space to further ease patient access to these vital services.

Enhancing Provider Support

In addition to improving patient access, the new program will greatly benefit healthcare providers and clinical teams. It will alleviate the burden associated with navigating complex benefit investigations, financial assistance needs, prior authorizations, and other administrative tasks. With these efficiencies in place, healthcare professionals can devote more time to direct patient care.

Wade Stone, Executive Vice President at Med Center Health, commented on the new collaboration, "Our partnership with Clearway Health is a significant advancement in how we provide services to our patients and community. It was crucial to select a partner with a profound understanding of health system care delivery, and Clearway Health exceeded our expectations in this regard."

Allison Arant, Senior Vice President at Clearway Health, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership as well: "We are privileged to partner with Med Center Health on this vital initiative. It's a testament to our shared vision for patient-centered care and enhancing continuity of care to achieve better health outcomes."
