Renée James Joins Portland General Electric Board



Renée James, the founder, Chair, and CEO of Ampere Computing, will become a member of the board of directors for Portland General Electric (PGE) effective June 11, 2025. This appointment marks a significant addition to the board, as it aligns with PGE's objective to bolster its expertise amid a surge in reshoring and onshoring in the high-tech and semiconductor sectors.

Background on Renée James


Renée James has an impressive track record in the technology industry, particularly during her tenure at Intel Corporation. She held various leadership roles at Intel, including President and Executive Vice President, where she spearheaded research and development as well as global manufacturing operations. Her extensive experience encompasses both hardware and software development in semiconductor manufacturing, making her a valuable asset to the PGE board.

Her career has also seen her lead several Intel development sites globally and manage the company's government affairs in those regions. James holds a Bachelor of Arts and an MBA from the University of Oregon, showcasing her strong educational background.

In addition to her new role at PGE, James also serves on the board of Citigroup, Inc., further enriching her corporate governance experience.

At PGE, James will be a member of the Compensation, Culture and Talent Committee, as well as the Finance and Operations Committee. This appointments is particularly timely as PGE is making strategic moves towards enhancing its operations and sustainability goals.
