Collaboration for a Greener Future: Ace Hotel Kyoto and Kyoto City University
In an inspiring initiative promoting sustainability, Ace Hotel Kyoto has partnered with Kyoto City University of Arts to support the upcoming "Earth Weekend 2025" through a special project using the innovative "Paper Razor®" developed by Kai Industries. Since its launch in Japan in April 2021, the Paper Razor has received great acclaim, and this collaboration aims to extend its reach while fostering awareness about environmental conservation.
Earth Weekend 2025: A Community Effort
The event is set to coincide with Earth Day on April 22, 2025, and focuses on uniting the community with a shared goal: to protect and support mother Earth. This year marks the fourth iteration of Earth Weekend, which has seen expanding cooperation with local residents and organizations. Kai Industries will present a collaborative exhibition titled "PAPER ART MUSEUM" that features art designs inspired by the theme of "the possibilities of paper." This exhibition aims to evoke a deeper understanding of environmental issues through engaging art stylings.
The Paper Razor®: An Eco-Conscious Approach
A key feature of this project is the distribution of original, co-branded Paper Razors, exclusively for guests of Ace Hotel Kyoto and visitors to the "PAPER ART MUSEUM" popup event at Shin Pukan. These razors combine the eco-friendly aspects of paper with metal components, emphasizing the commitment to reducing plastic use. Notably, the Paper Razor® has significantly minimized plastic usage by 98% compared to traditional razors, combining functionality with a vision for sustainability.
