Cunard's 2027 Programme Launch Drives Booking Surge
Cunard, the renowned British luxury cruise line, recently reported an impressive increase in bookings following the unveiling of its 2027 programme. In the first week post-launch, there has been a staggering 55% surge in nights booked compared to the same launch period last year for the 2026 programme. This growth is primarily fueled by substantial contributions from both the UK and North American markets, with the UK seeing nearly a 50% increase in bookings and North America experiencing more than a 100% rise.
Highlights of the 2027 Programme
The newly launched programme, which will run from April 2027 to January 2028, offers an extensive selection of 195 new itineraries that span across 115 destinations in 32 countries. These itineraries highlight the luxurious experience Cunard is known for, with an emphasis on exploration and cultural enrichment. Notably, the programme includes visits to 93 UNESCO World Heritage sites, 18 overnight port stays, and 33 late-evening departures, presenting guests with more opportunities to immerse themselves in different cultures.
Furthermore, this programme marks a return to roundtrip voyages from the UK for three of Cunard's iconic ships for the first time since 2018, boosting Southampton departures by a significant 54% year on year.
Growing Demand for Luxury Suites
Cunard has also witnessed a remarkable increase in interest for its luxury suites, specifically the Queens Grill and Princess Grill accommodations. Reservations for these exclusive suites have exceeded last year's figures by over 100%, underscoring the rising global inclination toward the unique experience offered in Cunard's premium accommodations. This demand is a testament to the preference for spacious, finely curated environments that enhance the voyage experience.
Katie McAlister, President of Cunard, expressed her enthusiasm regarding the market response to the 2027 launch. She stated, "We are delighted with the response to our 2027 launch. It’s wonderful to see so many guests choosing to sail with us, and the rise in bookings shows just how much people continue to value the Cunard experience." This highlights the ongoing trend of travelers valuing the combination of luxury, space, and personalized service while at sea.
