Tongji University Achieves Prestigious Global Ranking

On September 8, 2025, the Financial Times announced its Global Master in Management Rankings, revealing that the Tongji University School of Economics and Management (Tongji SEM) has made a historic leap to 8th place worldwide. This marks the first time the institution has cracked the global top ten and highlights its consistent placement in the top 25 over the past four years.

The school’s program has excelled in several key indicators, most notably securing the 1st position globally for value for money. Impressively, 100% of its graduates have found employment within three months post-graduation over the past three years. Additionally, Tongji SEM ranked 13th in career services and 14th in career progression, with nearly 90% of students reporting that they achieved their educational goals, including enhanced management skills and a broader global perspective.

This remarkable achievement stems from Tongji SEM's strong internationalization, practical education, and integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. The program, delivered in English, features diverse student groups and has established partnerships with over 100 leading business schools in more than 30 countries. With a robust portfolio of international exchanges, including dual degree programs, semester exchanges, and more than 300 opportunities for study abroad annually, the school offers a truly global education experience.

In 2024, Tongji SEM inaugurated its first overseas campus in Berlin, thereby enhancing its global educational ecosystem and allowing students to develop a global outlook. The school also launched its pioneering Innovative Practice and Action Learning (IPAL) project in collaboration with various companies such as JD Digits Industrial, YTO Express, and Transsion Holdings, which have bolstered students' innovative skills and problem-solving capabilities.

This success in rankings is a result of Tongji SEM's ongoing commitment to a student-centered educational philosophy and a focus on quality. The school’s mission emphasizes cultivating managerial talents knowledgeable in Chinese business practices and ready for global leadership roles. Tongji SEM, accredited by AACSB, EQUIS, and CAMEA, remains dedicated to developing globally competitive talents and deepening international cooperation, serving as a bridge between China and the world in management education.
