Shinjuku Givers Launches Crowdfunding for Olympic Gold Dreams in 3x3 Basketball

Shinjuku Givers: Pioneering the Road to Olympic Gold

On May 25, 2025, the Shinjuku Givers will kick off a groundbreaking crowdfunding initiative titled "Taking the First Step Towards Olympic Gold!" through Spportunity, a sports-specialized crowdfunding platform. This campaign comes just in time for the opening of the women's 3x3 (three-on-three) league.

1. The Vision Behind the Crowdfunding Campaign

Established in January 2025, Shinjuku Givers is a women's 3x3 basketball team launched with full support from the Kokoro Seikotsuin & Seitaiin group, which operates over 100 locations nationwide. 3x3 basketball is a thrilling and fast-paced game characterized by a 10-minute timer and a 12-second shot clock. This unique combination of speed, strategic thinking, physical prowess, and teamwork makes it a refreshing blend of “street” and Olympic sports.

Although Japanese women have previously secured silver medals in this format, they have yet to grab the coveted gold. The team aims to merge the agility and strategy that the Japanese are known for, crafting a revolutionary style in 3x3 basketball that will shock the world. Leading the charge is prominent figure Kaneko, a former member of Japan's U24 3x3 team, uniting a new generation of talent to take on the global stage.

Additionally, physical trainers from Givers Inc., with a track record of turning professional teams into winners, will accompany the team. These dedicated trainers are committed to enhancing the players' physical abilities while ensuring injury prevention, thus maximizing their potential. Together, with support from coaches, players, trainers, and the community, the team is on a mission to achieve Japan's first Olympic gold medal in women's 3x3 basketball.

2. Overview of the Crowdfunding Initiative

The crowdfunding project opens on May 25, 2025, at 8:00 AM and runs until June 29, 2025, at 11:59 PM. With a target fund of 3 million yen (approx. $30,000), the raised funds will cover the following:
  • - Travel and Accommodation for International Tours: 1.5 million yen
  • - Training and League Participation Costs: 1.5 million yen, including facility usage fees and trainer accompaniment costs.

If the crowdfunding exceeds the goal, plans include additional overseas training and clinics to nurture the next generation of female athletes. Support from the public is crucial to bolster this ambitious journey!

Spportunity is proud to offer industry-leading, cost-effective support to ensure campaign success. They provide assistance in developing promotional concepts, creating appealing narratives, and managing the crowdfunding system, thus taking much of the workload off the athletes and their teams.
