Canton Fair's Impact on Dongguan's Economy

In December 2024, a significant sourcing event was orchestrated by the Canton Fair in Dongguan, aiming to foster high-quality foreign trade development and support local economic advancement. From the 19th to the 20th of December, twenty-four prominent multinational companies engaged with over seventy local manufacturers at the Dongguan Base of Foreign Trade Transformation and Enhancement, resulting in projected purchase orders totaling $62 million.

Dongguan is renowned as a major manufacturing hub in China, attributed to its robust industrial foundation, efficient supply chains, and fast logistics systems. Specifically, Dalang, a district within Dongguan, is honored as the "Wool Capital of the World," while the Songshan Lake area is noted for its high-tech industries, particularly those related to electronic information and digital economies.

Connecting Buyers and Suppliers

The sourcing trip facilitated factory visits and on-site promotions, offering invaluable negotiation and signing opportunities to showcase and penetrate foreign markets for local products and services. Additionally, an exhibition zone was established, featuring home appliances, clothing, bags, and luggage with over three hundred samples from local suppliers.
