Smartee Strengthens Clinical Engagement in the DACH Region with First GS Summit in Cologne

Smartee Denti-Technology's First GS Summit in Cologne

On November 27th, Smartee Denti-Technology held its inaugural clinical GS Summit in Cologne, marking a significant milestone in its engagement with orthodontists in the DACH region. Having established a presence in Germany more than two years ago through its local subsidiary, this summit was Smartee's first European event dedicated to their GS mandibular repositioning technology. The following day, Smartee participated in the TPAO Congress, where the lead scientist, Professor Gang Shen, delivered a keynote lecture on GS technology, highlighting its growing academic and clinical interest among professionals in the field.

Key Highlights from the GS Summit

The summit gathered orthodontists from Germany and neighboring countries for a day centered around discussions aimed at redefining mandibular repositioning for adults undergoing aligner therapy. Some notable highlights included:
  • - Prof. Dr. Gang Shen, the principal scientist for Smartee’s GS technology and leading orthodontist at Taikang Bybo Dental, presented detailed lectures on the biological mechanisms behind their Mandibular Advancement Repositioning Technology (MART) and clinical management protocols for their S8-SGTB system.
  • - Mr. Matthias Peper, president of the TPAO Congress, shared his clinical experiences with the GS mandibular repositioning system focusing on case selection, planning workflows, and initial treatment outcomes.
  • - Dr. Werner Schupp, editor-in-chief of the Journal of Aligner Orthodontics, showcased how integrating personalized jaw movement data into digital planning could enhance functional predictability from the onset of treatment.

The summit concluded with Prof. Shen's overview of complex GS cases in adults, followed by the awarding of Smartee GS course certificates to participating clinicians.

Engaging in the TPAO Congress

At the 4th TPAO Congress held on November 28th and 29th, Smartee connected with over 1,300 orthodontists and dental technicians on one of Europe's most influential platforms for aligner treatment planning and interdisciplinary learning. The Smartee booth featured an extensive range of transparent aligners for both children and adults, including five product lines and a newly introduced packaging featuring a Disney-licensed Iron Man design, which caught considerable attention from attendees.

Prof. Gang Shen further enriched Smartee's presence with a principal lecture titled "GS Therapy for Jaw Repositioning: Fundamental Mechanisms, Therapeutic Procedures, and Clinical Efficacy." In his speech, he explained why GS therapy provides a predictable and biologically-informed solution for mandibular repositioning in adults, emphasizing its importance for the wider European orthodontic community.

Committing to Long-term Presence in the European Market

The GS Summit in Cologne and participation in the TPAO Congress reflect Smartee's ongoing commitment to the European orthodontics arena. This initiative is not just a market introduction but a reinforcement of the company’s established presence and a response to the increasing interest in GS-based functional orthodontics.

By continuously investing in digital innovations, training clinical staff, and promoting international academic exchanges, Smartee is well-positioned to enhance the clinical impact of GS technology across Europe and beyond.
