Stephanie Fadous Takes On Chief Actuary Role at Manulife Starting May 2025

In a significant leadership shift, Manulife Financial Corporation has appointed Stephanie Fadous as its new Chief Actuary, effective May 9, 2025. This appointment follows the recent promotion of Steve Finch to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer for Manulife Asia. Ms. Fadous's extensive background within the company positions her as a valuable asset to the Executive Leadership Team, reporting directly to Phil Witherington, the incoming President and CEO.

Currently, Ms. Fadous is serving as Manulife's Global Treasurer and Head of Capital Management. In this vital role, she has made remarkable contributions towards the development and execution of global funding programs, as well as managing the organization’s relationships with rating agencies and financial institutions. Prior to assuming her current role, she spearheaded the global implementation of the IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 accounting standards, showcasing her comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in finance and actuarial practices.

Ms. Fadous's career at Manulife also includes roles within the Global Finance, Group Actuarial, Corporate Development, and Asset Liability Management teams. Her educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science, along with being a Fellow of both the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries, evidencing her expertise and proficiency in the field.
