Uluru Integrates Data Unity Cloud for Enhanced Business Efficiency

Uluru's Innovative Step Towards Data-Driven Management

In a bold move to enhance their operational efficiency and address workforce shortage issues, Uluru Corporation has partnered with Srush, a data utilization advocate, to implement a Data Unity Cloud starting May 2025. Based in Chuo, Tokyo, Uluru aims to streamline its business accounting processes and fully leverage its data through this strategic collaboration.

The Rationale Behind the Move

Uluru has established itself as the frontrunner in mitigating labor shortage challenges by promoting the utilization of 'latent workforce assets.' This concept involves harnessing both the underutilized labor force and the labor that will likely be replaced by IT and AI in the future. With diverse services ranging from sophisticated SaaS solutions in their CGS (Crowd Generated Service) business to outsourcing services supporting operational efficiency through their BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) sector, Uluru has demonstrated impressive growth, sustaining an annual recurring revenue (ARR) growth rate of over 15%.

However, as the company expands its offerings and increases its BPO sites, the challenges of managing financial data emerged. Using multiple tools, including spreadsheets and accounting software, departments operated independently, leading to a reliance on cumbersome Excel tasks. These tasks included complex calculations concerning budgets and actuals, which hampered decision-making speed and accuracy. The need for a streamlined management accounting infrastructure became clear as the existing systems could not support the new services efficiently.

To combat these issues, Srush implemented a Data Unity Cloud that centralizes and visualizes data from various sources, allowing even non-engineers to operate intuitively. This approach is set to empower Uluru with a data-driven management framework across the organization, enhancing the quality of their financial assessments and operational strategies.

Insights from Uluru's Executives

Yosuke Nagaya, Uluru's Director and head of the Information Systems Department, highlighted the project's goals: "We are driving forward our initiative aimed at digitally transforming our business accounting by identifying inefficiencies in manual data aggregation and varying departmental data usages. Initially, we considered integrating ERP systems but found none suited our diverse business needs. Therefore, we shifted our focus to building a flexible data utilization infrastructure using our current systems."

In the evaluation process for data utilization tools, Srush's all-in-one solution for gathering, processing, and utilizing data emerged as a favorite due to its user-friendly design that required no technical expertise. Significant factors in the decision to proceed included the capability to internalize data management without depending on external vendors and the allowance for unlimited users, making it cost-effective for widespread company utilization.

Through a proof of concept (PoC), Uluru affirmed that Srush could meet their complex data processing requirements, leading to reduced workload through automation and enabling timely, precise data analysis.

Looking ahead, Srush will serve as the central hub for data utilization within Uluru's corporate sector, starting with the digital transformation of their accounting functions. Uluru envisions a future where all departments can independently harness data for fast and accurate decision-making, fostering a culture of agility and responsiveness.
