On August 25, 2025, the Okayama University Alumni Association held its Tokyo Chapter meeting at TKP Garden City PREMIUM Kyobashi. The event was led by President Keiichi Konaga of the Alumni Association and the university’s President Tomoyuki Nasu. Many noteworthy guests were present, including Takashi Hamahara from the Okayama Prefecture Tokyo Office, as well as around 90 alumni members who gathered for the occasion.

The meeting began with an address from President Nasu, followed by a toast from Keiji Takehara, Secretary-General of the Alumni Tokyo Chapter. The atmosphere was immediately filled with camaraderie, setting the tone for a successful gathering. Attendees enjoyed insightful talks from notable figures such as Dean Naohara Chikushima of the Law Faculty and Dean Tatsuhiko Abo of the Science Faculty.

Young entrepreneurs, including Haruki Kubo, CEO of ABABA, and Keigo Kuroaki from SEZO, shared their experiences and updates on their entrepreneurial activities. This segment highlighted the dynamic contributions of the younger generation, as they engaged openly with alumni about their ambitions and challenges. Additionally, current students were invited to express their aspirations, further bridging the gap between generations.

The event emphasized the importance of fostering connections among alumni and students, reiterating the role of Okayama University as a leader in nurturing talent and innovation. A final ceremonial closing with a three-time clap from Director Takashi Kawada left participants with a sense of unity and pride. Following the meeting, various alumni gatherings for different faculties took place, encouraging continued interaction.

In a bid to extend this spirit of cooperation and collaboration, future efforts will include inviting current students to subsequent events, thereby deepening ties between alumni and new graduates. These initiatives aim to expand the network of the Tokyo Chapter of the Alumni Association.

Moreover, on September 22, the Okayama Sandwich Conference, organized by alumni volunteers from the Kanto region, is scheduled to convene at the 'Tottori-Okayama Shinbashi-kan' antenna shop in Tokyo at 6 PM. This forum invites all alumni members regardless of their faculty or research departments, marking another opportunity to strengthen community ties.

Participants interested in connecting with fellow alumni or seeking further involvement are encouraged to reach out via the contact information provided by the university. Expect continued progress and community engagement initiatives focused on enhancing the reputation of Okayama University, which is recognized as a core regional research institution.

The announcement of this event was made public by Okayama University on August 22, 2025, showcasing the institution's commitment to maintaining robust relationships amongst its alumni and fostering a vibrant academic community.
