It reveals that over half of the respondents feel overwhelmed by the task of deciding lunch menus for their kids. The study, which surveyed 300 mothers cohabiting with children, highlights key aspects of the challenges they encounter.

  • - Frequency of Lunch Preparation: A staggering 49.3% of mothers claim they prepare lunch for their children almost every day during the summer break, indicating that many households see lunch preparation as a daily routine during this period.
  • - Homemade vs Store-Bought: Interestingly, 52.6% of the mothers reported that they mainly prepare homemade lunches, although 41% also rely on frozen and pre-packaged foods, showcasing a blend of convenience and home cooking.
  • - Popular Menu Items: When asked about their go-to dishes, 44.4% of mothers chose dishes like udon and soba, while 43.2% favor rice bowls. The preference for easy-to-prepare one-plate meals stands out, as these options simplify both cooking and cleanup.
