Sirius Corporation Announces 100% Subsidy for Care Wash Tool switle BODY

Sirius Corporation's Innovative Approach to Care with switle BODY

In a significant development for the nursing care sector, Sirius Corporation has announced that its newly launched care wash tool, switle BODY, will be entirely subsidized under Japan's latest budget for nursery facilities. This groundbreaking decision results from the approval of the 2024 Revised Budget, which allocates a total of 27.8 billion yen for service support initiatives in nursing care organizations. As facilities prepare for future contingencies such as natural disasters, the switle BODY aims to enhance hygiene even when traditional bathing options are unavailable.

Scheduled to launch in April 2024, the switle BODY is designed to provide complete body cleansing using just about 1 liter of water. This feature makes it particularly valuable for emergency situations, such as floods or earthquakes, when access to showers and baths might be severely restricted. The device proves essential for maintaining hygiene among evacuees, especially in poor conditions where sanitation is critical.

The product has already received accolades, including the prestigious Japan Resilience Award 2025, recognizing its potential in disaster management. Furthermore, its performance during the Noto Peninsula earthquake in 2024 was notably acknowledged, during which it served at an evacuation center in Kanazawa University. As a result of these endorsements and practical applications, the tool fits comfortably within the recently approved funding parameters.

In collaboration with Earth Corporation, Sirius has also developed switle CareWater — a specialized lotion that complements switle BODY. This lotion, designed to hydrate the skin and maintain cleanliness, is offered in a 1-liter bottle and can be diluted up to 100 times for versatile use. Together, switle BODY and CareWater provide a comprehensive hygiene solution for users, especially the elderly who may struggle with traditional bathing methods.

Moreover, the funding can support facilities for both emergency preparedness and everyday use, as noted by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. This dual-purpose approach enables elderly residents who find bathing challenging to achieve thorough body washes while lying in bed. By simplifying this process, Sirius aims to alleviate caregiver burdens and extend benefits not just to facility residents but also to nearby communities during crises.

In anticipation of high demand for the switle BODY, Sirius Corporation plans to fund manufacturing expansions through a Direct Public Offering (DPO), looking to secure up to 99 million yen via issuing preferred shares. The company has already submitted a securities notification to the Kanto Finance Bureau and conducted preliminary surveys to gauge interest from partners and supporters. The official application period for new shares will run from January 9 to January 23 of the forthcoming year, with surveys for the general public available via their website.

To ensure widespread availability, Sirius is gearing up for large-scale distribution through its network of agents across all 47 prefectures in Japan. The company estimates that around 83,800 facilities, including home care services and special nursing homes, will benefit from the subsidy based on their size and type.
