Goodyear Hosts Annual Toys for Tots Events
For the fifteenth year running, Goodyear is set to hold its annual toy drives in partnership with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve at several of its Blimp bases located in Ohio, Florida, and California. This ongoing collaboration serves a dual purpose: it provides a fun and engaging way for the community to contribute to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation and offers attendees a unique opportunity to view the iconic Goodyear Blimp up close.
Event Dates and Locations
The festivities kick off in California, where the event is slated for
December 5 from
4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and continuing on
December 6 from
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Enthusiasts in Florida can join on
December 7, with the hangar open for tours from
11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Meanwhile, Ohio residents are invited to drive through the Wingfoot Lake Blimp hangar, enjoying an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience and donating their toys from
December 5 to 7 between
2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
These events not only provide the opportunity for donations but also allow families to explore the impressive blimp hangars and learn more about the history and craftsmanship behind these floating icons.
Goodyear's Celebration of Giving
Expressing enthusiasm for this transformative event, Laura Duda, Goodyear's Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer, stated, “All of us at Team Goodyear are excited to celebrate our 15th year of partnering with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and the Toys for Tots Program, especially during the Goodyear Blimp's 100th anniversary year. They emphasize the importance of giving back to the community during the holiday season as an invaluable opportunity.”
Over the span of these 15 years, Goodyear events have contributed over
275,000 toys and raised
$765,000 in donations to support the Marine Toys for Tots Program.
Marine Toys for Tots Foundation's Mission
Retired Marine Colonel Ted Silvester, Vice President of Toys for Tots, expressed gratitude towards Goodyear for their enduring partnership. “We’re honored to mark another milestone with Goodyear returning for their 15th consecutive year as a National Corporate Sponsor of the Marine Toys for Tots Program. Our organization proudly continues its 78th year of bringing hope and joy to children in need across the nation,” he explained.
Founded in 1947, the mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during the months of October to December and distribute these toys as Christmas gifts for disadvantaged children within local communities.
