SOMPO Direct Launches New Accident Reporting Portal Backed by Sollers Support via Guidewire Jutro Platform

SOMPO Direct Unveils New Accident Reporting Portal with Sollers Consulting

Tokyo/Warsaw, July 9, 2026—SOMPO Direct General Insurance Co., Ltd. (President: Katsuji Nakagawa) has officially launched a new accident reporting portal designed to simplify the process for customers. Developed with the support of Sollers Consulting, this innovative solution began operation in May 2026 and signifies a significant step in the company's digital transformation journey.

The newly established web-based portal targets individuals who hold automobile insurance, allowing users to easily submit their accident reports online. This solution is particularly tailored for the First Notice of Loss (FNOL), making it easier for customers to submit accident information, select repair shops via maps, and submit required documents and photos through a simplified digital process. SOMPO Direct aims to transition up to 50% of relatively straightforward claims, which typically do not involve personal injury, from traditional call centers to this new portal.

SOMPO Direct's Systems Service Department Manager, Chuuya Wada, expressed gratitude for Sollers' leadership and guidance throughout the planning and agile development phases. The previous accident reporting process had several hurdles, including an overwhelming number of input fields and usability challenges that deterred online registration. The new solution streamlines the input steps, integrates directly with the claims and document management systems, and significantly enhances customer experience and operational efficiency.

The initiative addresses key operational challenges, including manual data entry and inadequate integration with core systems. The project progressed swiftly, completing the entire process from concept proofing to full rollout in approximately six months.

For this development, the Guidewire Jutro Digital Platform was incorporated to accelerate development speed and simplify integration with Guidewire ClaimCenter. By leveraging standard user interface features, the new portal improves user experience and meets delivery timelines efficiently. Sollers Consulting also provided technical advice, implemented Google Maps integration, document processing, and additional user support functionalities.

Furthermore, in its commitment to enhancing digital experiences, SOMPO Direct’s new solution integrates advanced monitoring tools like Datadog and Google Analytics. These tools enable tracking of customer journeys, identifying potential issues, and continuously optimizing the accident reporting process based on data insights.
