RTX Invention Convention U.S. Nationals 2026

The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation will host the RTX Invention Convention U.S. Nationals from June 3-5, 2026. This prestigious event will illuminate the innovative spirit of the nation's youth, showcasing nearly 450 K–12 inventors who have progressed through rigorous local and state competitions.

This annual event is part of the Invention Convention Worldwide program, which promotes creativity, problem-solving skills, and entrepreneurial thinking among students. Participants will present their original inventions to distinguished judges from various industries, aiming for national recognition, along with awards, scholarships, and patent opportunities that could propel their inventions into the marketplace.

Kristy Becerra, Senior Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at RTX, emphasizes the program's impact. “Invention Convention empowers students to view their ideas as viable solutions to real-world problems. As they navigate through this process, they build confidence and innovative skills that will serve them well beyond this competition.”

During this exciting three-day event, students will engage in:
  • - Presenting their revolutionary inventions to a panel of expert judges.
  • - Interacting with fellow student innovators and established industry leaders in a collaborative environment.
  • - Participating in hands-on educational programs designed to enhance their invention skills.
  • - Competing for over 75 awards which include cash prizes, scholarships, and patents.

Patricia Mooradian, President & CEO of The Henry Ford, underscores the significance of the Invention Convention. “The outcomes from this program are profound. Many participants are already securing patents and launching products into the commercial space—these young inventors represent the future workforce of our country.”

The event will culminate in a public showcase where attendees can view the inventive works of these talented students, along with an awards ceremony to honor the most promising young innovators. Participation in the Invention Convention Worldwide network reaches over 300,000 students across 35 states and Puerto Rico, demonstrating the extensive reach and impact of this initiative.

The program does not just nurture specific technical skills; it equips students with essential competencies for the modern workplace, including critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. These skills are vital in today’s economy where adaptability and innovative thinking are prized.
