On November 27, 2025, BLiX Chigasaki is set to open its doors, presenting a remarkable revitalization of the well-loved landmark formerly known as Itou Yokado Chigasaki. Developed by IRIOS, a Tokyo-based company led by CEO Katsuhiro Sakai, in collaboration with the owning firm, Kagisan from Kanagawa Prefecture, this multifaceted commercial facility aims to not only honor the area's history but also cater to modern lifestyles.

A Community-Centric Vision

The journey towards the opening of BLiX Chigasaki exemplifies an impressive turnaround, completing its renovations in just 8 months after taking over the facility in April 2025. Typically, such a significant remodeling—spanning 20,000 square meters—would require approximately 18 months. However, driven by a commitment to excellence and a vision to meet community needs, the project team has worked tirelessly to accelerate the timeline in response to local feedback regarding the lack of essential shopping options in the vicinity of Chigasaki Station.
