Changzhou's Energy Fair Marks a New Era in Renewable Energy Leadership

The International New Energy Exhibition 2025 was officially opened on September 13, in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, with the inspiring motto "New Energy, New Power, New Changzhou." This significant event not only highlighted Changzhou's ambitions in the renewable energy sector but also showcased a series of crucial business deals. During the opening ceremony, 33 substantial contracts were signed, summing up to an impressive investment of over 33.7 billion Yuan, marking a pivotal moment for the city's future in sustainable energy.

Wang Jianfeng, the Secretary of the Changzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, emphasized the city's focus on maintaining its leading role in manufacturing while accelerating technology advancements aimed at positioning Changzhou as a hub for renewable energy. He articulated how the city aims to reflect Jiangsu's commitment to sustainable growth while enhancing its global competitiveness.

In recent years, Changzhou has taken significant strides towards establishing a comprehensive industrial chain in the renewable energy field. This chain encompasses five vital segments: generation, storage, transmission, utilization, and the grid. The results of these initiatives have been remarkable; just last year, the renewable energy sector's output in Changzhou surpassed 850 billion Yuan, with forecasts indicating a rise to over 1 trillion Yuan this year.

One of the most captivating aspects of this year's exhibition was its innovative "Dual-IP" approach. On the opening night, the Changzhou Olympic Sports Center held the 11th match in the Jiangsu City Football League, featuring a thrilling game between Changzhou and Suqian, attended by over 40,000 enthusiastic fans. Although Changzhou faced defeat with a score of 12, the atmosphere within and outside the stadium was electric, reflecting a sense of community and pride that transcended the game's outcome.

Zhou Wei, the Deputy Secretary of the Changzhou CPC Committee and Mayor of Changzhou, shared his thoughts on the synergy created between the renewable energy sector and the Jiangsu City Football League. He praised this unique partnership as a new pathway for industrial growth and social engagement within the city. Zhou extended invitations to entrepreneurs, scientists, investors, and innovators from around the globe to collaborate with Changzhou and contribute to its visionary future.

As Changzhou leads the charge towards becoming a global leader in renewable energy, it is necessary to recognize not just the economic implications but also the social and environmental impacts. The commitment to renewable energy technologies not only fortifies the local economy but also positions Changzhou as a key player in tackling global climate challenges.

The International New Energy Exhibition stands as a testament to Changzhou's foresight and determination to harness the power of renewable energy. With strategic partnerships and continued investment in advanced technologies, Changzhou is not merely partaking in the global energy transition but is asserting its role as a leader on that front. The unfolding story of Changzhou’s journey in renewable energy reflects a larger narrative that highlights the critical importance of local actions in a global context, reminding us all that the future of energy is a collective endeavor, rooted in collaboration and innovation.
