Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) officially announced the appointment of Patrick Brosnan as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective April 20, 2026. This strategic move comes as IEHP aims to sharpen its financial strategy and ensure alignment with its overarching business goals.

Brosnan brings over three decades of invaluable experience in the healthcare sector, previously serving in significant roles at prominent national health plans like Molina Healthcare, Aetna, and Health Net. Most recently, he held the position of Vice President of Medicaid Plans at AmeriHealth Caritas, which serves approximately 2 million members in Pennsylvania. With a robust background, Brosnan has been key in driving profitability, enhancing medical management practices, forming network contracts, and implementing long-term process solutions that benefit organizations.

In his new role, Brosnan will not only oversee the financial strategy but also lead essential internal departments such as Actuarial Services, Claims, and Procurement. His extensive expertise is expected to foster financial stewardship and create a strong operational foundation for IEHP.

Jarrod McNaughton, IEHP's Chief Executive Officer, expressed enthusiasm about Brosnan's appointment. He stated, “We are pleased to welcome Patrick to the team. His leadership brings a strategic vision that will help shape the future of our health plan, ensuring we can continue innovating, expanding our impact, and advancing our mission with purpose.” This sentiment reflects a consensus within the organization that Brosnan's experience and strategic mindset will prove essential in enhancing IEHP's operational effectiveness and community impact.

In addition to his leadership capabilities, Brosnan emphasized his commitment to serving vulnerable populations. He expressed his eagerness to work with a company that plays a critical role in the community, remarking, “It is part of IEHP's heart and soul to provide health care for those who need it the most, and I want to dedicate the rest of my life to serving the most vulnerable populations.” This dedication aligns perfectly with IEHP's mission of healing and inspiring the human spirit.

Brosnan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from St. John's University in Queens, New York. He is a certified public accountant and a chartered global management accountant, showcasing his commitment to professional excellence. Additionally, he is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), further solidifying his credentials in the field.

Founded in 1996, IEHP takes pride in being one of the largest Medicaid health plans in the United States and the largest not-for-profit Medicare-Medicaid public health plan nationwide. The organization proudly supports 1.4 million residents in Riverside and San Bernardino County. By providing access to quality health care, including IEHP DualChoice plans and Covered California options, they continue to fulfill their mission for health equity and accessibility.

As Brosnan steps into this pivotal role at IEHP, the health plan is optimistic about the future. With his leadership, IEHP is poised to enhance its services, innovate further, and continue to have a substantial impact on the communities it serves.
