The campaign aims to educate residents about the value of local resources, potentially paving the way for greater utilization of Okushizu timber beyond the region.

Purpose of the Initiative

The goal of this campaign is to inform the public about the benefits and importance of Shizuoka’s woods. The outreach occurs during the home matches of the Shimizu S-Pulse, a local J1 League soccer team that represents Shimizu City. The project is organized by the Central Branch of the Shizuoka Prefectural Forest Association, which operates under the Shizuoka City Environmental Bureau's Forest Management Division.

At the event, visitors will discover how forests, making up approximately 76% of Shizuoka's area, play a crucial role in the environment. Engaging displays will showcase the beauty of local timber and its various uses. Attendees can also participate in interactive activities such as receiving novelty gifts made from Okushizu timber, creating a memorable experience that connects them with the forest.
