Field Medical, Inc., a pioneering firm in the development of second-generation pulsed field ablation (PFA) solutions for intricate cardiac conditions, has officially appointed Dr. Mark A. Turco as its new Chief Executive Officer. This announcement, made on March 16, 2026, signals a pivotal moment for the company as it seeks to enhance its operational capabilities and advance critical clinical programs.

His prior roles include significant positions within both startups and established medical device giants. Notably, he has skillfully guided clinical-stage companies through transformative phases, focusing on growth and sustainable strategies in the medical technology sector.

The appointment of Dr. Turco comes at a time when Field Medical is aiming to bolster its clinical programs, particularly in addressing complex ventricular and atrial arrhythmias. Ben Cannon, a board member of Field Medical and a part of the BioStar Capital and Cue Growth investment teams, expressed confidence in Dr. Turco's expertise. According to him, Dr. Turco's unique blend of experience as a cardiologist and his background in the medical device industry positions him perfectly to navigate Field Medical through its next phase of development.

"Mark's distinctive background equips him well to guide Field Medical through this next phase of growth," Cannon stated. Before his current role, Dr. Turco served as President and CEO at JC Medical, Inc. Under his leadership, the company developed an innovative transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) system for patients with aortic regurgitation. This system was later acquired by Edwards Lifesciences in July 2024. His experience includes senior leadership positions at Medtronic and Covidien, where he was Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for vascular and neurovascular divisions. Most recently, he served as President and CEO of the Rhode Island Life Science Hub.

Dr. Turco's clinical insight as a board-certified interventional cardiologist adds depth to his leadership at Field Medical. Upon his appointment, he expressed his honor and excitement in joining the company at a crucial juncture. He stated, "The company has developed a unique PFA platform capable of significantly addressing critical unmet patient needs in the field of ventricular arrhythmias and atrial fibrillation. I am eager to work closely with the talented team at Field Medical as we advance our clinical programs and navigate the regulatory landscape to achieve our mission."
