Kasumi Ishikawa's Thank You Tour Concludes in Yonago, Tottori

On December 20, 2025, a noteworthy event will unfold in Yonago City, Tottori Prefecture. The final stop of the "Kasumi Ishikawa Thank You Tour across 47 Prefectures," presented by Zen-Noh, will take place at the Tottori Prefectural Yonago Gymnasium. This event marks the culmination of a four-year journey that celebrated table tennis and the joy of sports among local communities.

The event will feature the illustrious Kasumi Ishikawa, a former member of Japan's national table tennis team, who will share her insights and experiences through a combination of demonstrations and discussions focusing on developing a strong and healthy mindset as well as physical skills in children. This tour aims to promote the vital aspects of sportsmanship, known as "Shin-gi-tai" (spirit, technique, and body), essential for nurturing future athletes.

Invited as a special guest is Sayaka Hirano, also a former national representative and a long-time friend of Ishikawa. Both athletes have competed in numerous international competitions together, and their interactive segments promise to be a highlight of the event, providing an inspiring perspective for young attendees.

Approximately 80 young players from elementary to high school levels within Tottori will participate in this memorable experience. Moreover, entry to the event will be free of charge, and no pre-registration is required, allowing families and sports enthusiasts to witness the culmination of this four-year journey firsthand.

The event will kick off at 1:00 PM, starting with an opening ceremony, transitioning into practical demonstrations, and culminating with a talk show. Attendance is encouraged, as this moment marks a significant milestone for Ishikawa and her dedication to foster a love for table tennis across the nation.

The Kasumi Ishikawa Thank You Tour originated in April 2022 and was conceived as a means for the athlete to express gratitude to those who have supported her career while engaging with fans nationwide. This final leg, held in Tottori, will focus not only on the sport itself but also on empowering children’s dreams through direct interaction with an idol they admire.

The tour has met with overwhelming support across various locales, with more than a dozen stops already completed, including a recently held event in Aomori. The relationship between Ishikawa and her fans continues to grow as she effectively bridges the gap between professional sports and local communities.

Running the tour under the auspices of the Zen-Noh, which seeks to promote agriculture and community, underscores the deep connection between sports and regional culture in Japan. Moreover, the event will provide vital lessons and tools to young athletes to inspire them to cultivate their talents, resilience, and the spirit of camaraderie in sports.
