MAGLITE Strengthens Partnership with National Police Dog Foundation to Honor Fallen K-9 Heroes
MAGLITE Strengthens Support for K-9 Heroes
In a heartwarming move, MAGLITE is deepening its support for the National Police Dog Foundation as it prepares to honor the brave K-9s who lost their lives in the line of duty throughout 2024. On May 11, 2025, MAGLITE will participate in the National K-9 Memorial Service held in Washington, D.C., where every K-9 handler who has experienced the tragic loss of their police dog will receive a special keepsake.
Remembering Sacrifices
The event marks an important occasion during Police Week, a time dedicated to recognizing and celebrating law enforcement officers and their dedicated K-9 partners. In remembrance of these fallen heroes, MAGLITE will present an engraved flashlight featuring both the K-9's name and the logo of the National Police Dog Foundation to each handler at the memorial service. This gesture intends not only to honor the sacrifices made by these loyal K-9s but also to provide a lasting memento for those left behind.
The National Police Dog Foundation works tirelessly to support law enforcement agencies, ensuring that they have the resources to maintain high-quality K-9 units. Their initiatives range from providing funding for training and veterinary care to offering grants for retired K-9s. This support aims to help facilitate better training for future police dogs while addressing the medical needs of those who are actively serving.
Comprehensive Support for K-9 Units
In addition to their financial contributions, the Foundation has established a network of veterinarians who are prepared to assist agencies facing expensive medical issues that can arise during a K-9's service. Their commitment also extends to retired service dogs; the Foundation values their continued well-being and the need for ongoing veterinary care even after their official duties are over.
MAGLITE’s founder, Anthony Maglica, expressed his deep appreciation for the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers and their canine partners, sharing that his personal love for dogs, highlighted by the recent loss of his own companion, further motivates him to support the Foundation.
