Sheila Warren, a notable figure in the realm of emerging technologies, has recently been appointed as the Chief Strategy and Operations Officer at Project Liberty. Alongside this pivotal role, she will also serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the Project Liberty Institute. The announcement was made by Tomicah Tillemann, the President of Project Liberty, marking a significant milestone in both Warren's career and the organization's future.

Warren, who is based in the Bay Area, brings a wealth of experience and insight into the role. Founded five years ago, Project Liberty aims to provide solutions that empower individuals to reclaim control over their digital lives. A part of this mission includes the development of Frequency, a groundbreaking internet infrastructure layer created by the Frequency Network Foundation in collaboration with Project Liberty. The Project Liberty Institute, classified as a 501(c)(3) organization, collaborates with prestigious institutions such as Georgetown University, Stanford University, and ETH Zurich to expedite its ambitious goals.

Frank McCourt, the founder of Project Liberty, expressed great enthusiasm regarding Warren's addition to the team. Describing Warren as a catalyst for meaningful innovation, Tillemann underscored how her extensive knowledge in blockchain, digital assets, data policy, and civic technology positions her as an invaluable asset in achieving the organization’s objectives to empower users. The intent is to allow individuals greater influence over platform operations, choice regarding their data usage, and a share in the value that they generate online.

Before joining Project Liberty, Warren was the inaugural CEO of the Crypto Council for Innovation (CCI), a notable global alliance committed to promoting the benefits of cryptocurrency through education, research, and advocacy. At CCI, she collaborated with leading crypto industry experts from firms like Coinbase and Block, thereby shaping the future of cryptocurrencies on a global scale. Preceding her tenure at CCI, Warren was instrumental in establishing the World Economic Forum's blockchain and digital assets team, leading tech policy strategies in 16 countries and regularly engaging with high-profile leaders around global technological issues.
