Lotte Group's New Employee Welcome Day

On April 4, 2025, Lotte Co., Ltd. organized a joint cheering day for its new employees at the ZOZO Marine Stadium during a game between the Chiba Lotte Marines and the Rakuten Eagles. Taking place as part of the orientation for new recruits from various Lotte Group companies, this yearly event has been a tradition since the Marines became based in Chiba City in 1992. The initiative aims to foster mutual understanding among the group companies and strengthen relationships among employees.

This year, a total of 139 new hires from Lotte, Meiji Chocolate Company, Ginza Cozy Corner, and Lotte City Hotel came together to enjoy the game. Participants were seated in mixed groups, allowing them to immerse themselves in the energetic atmosphere of the stadium, cheering for their team and witnessing the thrilling performance of professional baseball players.

A surprise video message from manager Hideki Yoshii was revealed just three days prior to this event during the new employee ceremony, which further energized the supportive atmosphere among the attendees. His uplifting message read, "Congratulations on joining the Lotte Group! As you embark on your professional journey, you may feel a mix of excitement and anxiety. You are not alone in this; alongside your peers and future mentors, let’s drive the Lotte Group forward together! The Chiba Lotte Marines will also do our utmost to win the league and become the best in Japan!"

In addition to fostering a deep sense of camaraderie among employees from different departments, the event ignited conversations and reflections on personal aspirations and commitments.

Kenei Yamada, the head of human resources at Lotte Holdings, highlighted the significance of this event for new employees' understanding of the group. He noted, "This joint cheering day, held since last year, serves as a precious opportunity for new hires to deepen their understanding of the Lotte Group. We received numerous comments like, 'Knowing that Manager Yoshii sent us a message inspires us to cheer even harder!' which shows that they felt the group’s appeal. We will continue to strengthen engagement and a sense of unity through similar events, aiming for growth across the Lotte Group."
